Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Sokoto State has faulted Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal for reneging on his promise to organise credible local government election in the state.
The party described the election as a sham and alleged it was marred by irregularities.
In a statement signed by the party’s secretary in the state, Malam Kabir A. Aliyu maintained that the exercise was the worst election ever conducted by any state electoral commission in the country.
According to the statement: “The party is, hereby registering its disappointment with the election as Tambuwal assured the opposition, and the good people of Sokoto that credible and fair elections would be conducted.
“In view of this and many other issues raised in our pending court case filed before the election, we wish to totally reject the outcome of the exercise.”
