The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won all 17 chairmanship positions and 260 councillorship seats in the Enugu State Local Government elections.
The results were declared by the Chairman of the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC) and Chief Electoral Officer, Prof. Christian Ngwu, following the completion of the final collation exercise on Saturday.
Ngwu declared the APC candidates winners of the chairmanship and councillorship contests across the state, confirming that the party won all 260 councillorship positions in the state’s 260 electoral wards.
He congratulated the winners and urged them to regard their electoral victory as a call to duty and an opportunity to serve the people who elected them.
The ENSIEC chairman also commended security agencies and other stakeholders for their support throughout the electoral process, while reiterating the commission’s commitment to conducting free and fair elections.
The declaration followed the conclusion of the local government electoral process, formally confirming the APC’s sweep of all 17 council areas and 260 wards in the state.
