Legend Extra Stout has joined the 2026 August Meeting celebrations in Enugu and Aba, using the annual gathering to honour Igbo women and their contributions to families, businesses and community development.
The August Meeting, an enduring tradition across southeastern Nigeria, provides an opportunity for women to return to their communities, reconnect with one another, deliberate on issues affecting their families and communities, support development initiatives and celebrate their shared heritage.
Speaking on the brand’s participation, Senior Brand Manager, Legend Extra Stout, Ifeyinwa Madu, described the August Meeting as a significant gathering of Umuada, noting that the women play important roles in strengthening families and communities while preserving Igbo culture.
“At Legend Extra Stout, we are proud to celebrate these women who continue to preserve culture. We are also excited to take this celebration to Abia on August 28, where we look forward to raising a glass with even more women and celebrating the stories, strength and spirit that make them truly legendary,” she said.
The company said the August Meeting goes beyond reunion and celebration, as generations of Igbo women have used the occasion to strengthen relationships, contribute to community development and pass cultural values from one generation to another.
It noted that the women being celebrated include mothers who have held their families together, community leaders who have contributed their time and resources to local projects, sisters who consistently support their families and aunties whose guidance has influenced younger generations.
