Edwin Agbodu, MD/CEO of Future Homes Properties & Investment Limited, has described leadership as more than occupying a position, saying it is measured by the institutions built, people developed and opportunities created.
Agbodu made the remark in a tribute to Engr. Dr Emmanuel Aderemi Awode, who is celebrating his 63rd birthday on September 7, 2026.
“Leadership is not only about position. It is about the institutions you build, the people you develop and the opportunities you create,” Agbodu said.
Awode, who is associated with the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide, serves as a Senior Special Apostle and is a member of the Board of Trustees of the church’s Ayo Ni O organisation.
According to Agbodu, Awode’s activities over the years have included involvement in church-related projects as well as initiatives connected to community development.
His involvement with the church has included activities around the Galilee International Headquarters, where projects such as a nursery and primary school and staff quarters have been undertaken.
Awode also participated in a pilgrimage to Israel in 2023, travelling with a group of more than 75 people.
Agbodu also highlighted Awode’s recognition in the Lagos State Man of the Year Award in 2021, where he polled 6,122 votes.
Born in Lagos on September 7, 1963, Awode was raised in a Christian family. His father, Dr Dickson Adekunle Awode, was associated with the Cherubim and Seraphim tradition.
As he marks his 63rd birthday, Agbodu said Awode’s record reflects a combination of professional, religious and community involvement over the years.
