Edo State House of Assembly has condemned the attack by operatives of the Nigerian Army and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Ukpuje Community, in Owan West Local Government of the state, on October 27.
The Speaker, Chief Blessing Agbebaku, made this known during plenary yesterday in Benin.
Agbebaku said the attack led to the unfortunate death of one person, while several others were seriously injured. He appealed to Governor Monday Okpebholo and the Commissioner of Police, Monday Agbonika, to ensure a thorough investigation into the incident to uncover the circumstances surrounding the attack.
The lawmakers condemned the vicious attack on the people of Ukpuje, which led to the murder of one person and several others being injured by operatives of the Nigerian Army and NDLEA.
The lawmakers unanimously agreed that a panel of enquiry be set up to investigate the unfortunate incident.
In another development, the Edo House of Assembly has screened three nominees: Felix Imoisilli, David Osifo and Martins Omozogie, as members of the Edo State Judicial Service Commission.
