In a statement on Friday, Ibe, a former speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly said: “In a society as civilised as ours, such brazen acts of barbaric crimes must not be treated with levity. A full-scale investigation should be launched immediately by the security agencies to fish out the daredevil criminals responsible for this dastardly act.
“It is important that any good citizen with reasonable suspicion of possible culprits should act patriotically and provide information that can aid the investigation.
“I urge everyone, even in this grief, to remain calm and promote peace as the law takes its full course. “It is unfortunate that Obowo is in the news for this wrong reason at a time when the Imo State government has deployed significant funds to provide security infrastructure, equipment, and apparatuses for the preservation of lives and property in our localities. Let us trust that these criminals will be unveiled and brought to justice shortly.”
