In a bid to deliver valuable, reliable and affordable mobile technology to the market and community, Lava International Limited has launched operations in Nigeria.

This is even as the mobile company is set to launch feature phones for the mass market through Champion series C1, A1, N1 and smartphones through Z series, which includes Z81 2GB, Z81 3GB and Iris 51.

Speaking to newsmen during the launch in Lagos, CEO, Lava Africa, Vikram Singh, said that after its successful launch in Egypt, Lava chose Nigeria as its next step for expansion, with a promise to deliver affordable mobile technology to the market and community.

Vikram stated that Lava, which started in 2009 in India, remains committed to delivering trustworthy products and the most reliable user experience in all the markets in which it operates in and is appreciative of the opportunity to introduce the brand in Nigeria.

“By introducing an unmatched 4G experience to Nigeria, Lava is hopeful that it will have a positive impact on the economic development and social enhancement of many communities across the country,” he said.

Lava has also established a partnership with Raya Trade, who will be taking up distribution of the company’s phones, a move that signifies that the mobile company intends to penetrate the market against incumbents.

Executive director, Lava International Limited, West Africa, Rohit Singh, noted that Nigeria remains a booming economy with a large population as well as demand, and its prospects in the information and communication technology space remains huge even as Lava intends to tap into such distribution opportunity.

Singh said, “Nigeria is the biggest market in Africa but there different things one sees in other countries and Nigeria has huge distribution potential and this is what we looked and saw before starting operations here. We looked at the brands sold here in Nigeria, pricing and quality of phones. So we made sure that our phones had good quality.”
