Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Oyo State yesterday announced that it would confer degrees, masters and diploma on 10,223 graduates with 137 obtaining First Class.
Vice Chancellor of LAUTECH, Prof. Razaq Olatunde Kalilu, disclosed this at the briefing for the forthcoming 18th convocation ceremonies.
He said the convocation ceremonies will feature 10,223 graduands with
7,641 from 11 faculties for bachelor’s degrees and 2,582 are in the postgraduate category.
He explained that of the 7,641 in the first-degree category, 137 obtained First-class, 1,889 in the Second-class upper category, 3,549 Second-class lower, 1,008 Third-class and 37 graduates got Pass.
He added: “For the degree in Nursing Science, there are 17 in Distinction, 973 in the credit category while 31 are graduating with Pass.”
According to him, bachelor’s degree graduates were produced through three modes of study: regular, part-time and distance learning.

The VC announced that the overall best graduating student is Oladepo Caleb Olugbenga with a Cumulative Grade Point Average of 4.89 from the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering.
He said Oladepo will be presented with the award on Wednesday, April 22.
Kalilu further stated that 2,582 postgraduate students will be awarded postgraduate diplomas in various higher degrees.
The VC said 596 graduates will be awarded academic and professional postgraduate diplomas in various disciplines while 1,850 will be admitted to academic and professional master’s degrees in various courses.
He revealed that nine will be conferred with Master of Philosophy degree and 127 will be admitted to the Doctor of Philosophy degree.
Kalilu explained that the university plans to expand its academic sphere by bringing into fruition the proposed Medical Biotechnology, Mechatronics, the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences and its programmes and to remain globally competitive.
The LAUTECH helmsman commended the Visitor to the university, Governor of Oyo State, Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, for his unflinching support to the institution University, which energises its growth.
He also acknowledged the Pro-Chancellor and members of the Governing Council, management, Senate and staff for their cooperation.
