The Chairman, Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM), Chief (Dr.) Innocent Chukwuma, CON, has described the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, who died recently, as a bridge-builder, a visionary, and a gentleman.

A condolence message personally signed by the Nnewi-based auto manufacturer on behalf of the management and staff of the company, said he received with deep sadness the news of the passing of the deputy governor.

He stated that the late Senator Ewhrudjakpo’s contributions to governance, development, and the strengthening of democratic institutions would be remembered for years to come.

The IVM Chairman said in the condolence message, “We extend our heartfelt condolences to the government and the good people of Bayelsa State, and especially to His Excellency, Governor Douye Diri, on the loss of a trusted partner in leadership, a steadfast public servant, and a man whose dedication to the progress of the state was unwavering.

“Senator Lawrence was a bridge-builder, a visionary, and a gentleman committed to service. His contributions to governance, development, and the strengthening of democratic institutions will be remembered for years to come. His passing is not only a loss to Bayelsa State but to the entire nation.

“At this difficult time, we stand in solidarity with the government and people of Bayelsa. We pray that God grants his family the strength to bear this painful loss, comforts those he has left behind, and grants his soul peaceful rest.

“May his legacy continue to inspire a future of unity, service, and excellence.”

The death of the deputy governor was announced by the Bayelsa State Government via a statement which said “he collapsed while proceeding to a scheduled meeting within his office and was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa, where he was later confirmed dead (on Thursday, December 11, 2025).”
