The Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA), has continued its sensitisation campaign with a roadshow in Ikorodu West Local Council Development Area (L.C.D.A.), engaging residents, motorists and business owners on responsible parking practices and the Lagos State parking policy.
The exercise, aimed at deepening public understanding ahead of LASPA’s enforcement, was led by the general manager. LASPA, Mrs. Adebisi Adelabu, who was represented by Mr. Deen Sanwoola, the executive assistant to the Governor on LASPA.
Speaking during the sensitisation exercise, she emphasised the importance of educating residents and motorists on responsible parking, noting the adverse effects of indiscriminate parking on Lagos traffic and roads.
She said, “Effective parking goes beyond providing spaces, it’s about understanding where, when and how to park responsibly.” According to her, responsible parking requires motorists to understand where, when and how to park, while ensuring that roads, walkways and other public spaces remain accessible and safe for all road users.

She further explained that the road show was part of LASPA’s efforts to create awareness on the Lagos State Parking Policy and ensure that residents understand the expectations before the commencement of enforcement on violators.
The LASPA GM encouraged motorists and business owners to make use of designated parking spaces and avoid parking in ways that obstruct traffic, pedestrian walkways or access to businesses and properties, stressing that greater public awareness and cooperation are essential to achieving an orderly and efficient parking system across Lagos State.
LASPA reiterates its commitment to working with stakeholders and communities through continued education and engagement as the State strengthens parking management and promotes greater Lagos.
