Large turnout of voters as Anambra decides

Voters in Anambra
From Emmanuel Uzor, Awka
Contrary to the expected voter apathy in the Anambra governorship election being held today, there is a massive turnout of voters across various centres in the state.
At Nri wards 1 & 2, Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State, voters trooped out as early as 7 am, waiting for the arrival of INEC staff and election materials, which arrived at Regal Secondary School, Nri by 7.48 am.
The waiting voters on sighting INEC staff quickly queued up as accreditation of voters began with voting exactly by 8.30 am.
The deputy Governorship Candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Uche Ekwunife, arrived at her polling unit, 001, Nri Ward 1, to exercise her franchise.
She described the exercise as peaceful and orderly and expressed optimism that her party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), will emerge victorious as a result of the confidence the electorate in her Nri community has in her capacity to further bring democracy dividends to the people.
