Real Madrid manager Alvaro Arbeloa has explained why he withdrew forward Kylian Mbappé during his side’s 1–1 LALIGA draw with Real Betis on Friday.
In the 82nd minute of the match, Arbeloa replaced the France captain with Gonzalo García while Real Madrid were still holding a 1–0 lead.
Héctor Bellerín’s late strike subsequently earned both clubs a point each.

Speaking about Mbappé in his post-match interview, Arbeloa noted that the forward had experienced some discomfort during the encounter at Real Betis.
“I don’t know. He had some discomfort, and we will see how he progresses in the coming days,” Arbeloa said.
Real Madrid will now face Espanyol in their next fixture.
