Lagos youth body condemns assassination of Adeniyi Sanni, charges Police to bring perpetrators to book

The Nigerian Youth Congress, Lagos State Chapter has called on the Nigerian Police Force to be aggressive, detailed, timely, and ethical in their investigation to fetch out of the perpetrators of the killers of Mr. Adeniyi Sanni, one of the senior aides to the Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Solomon Adeola, who was brutally murdered at the late hours of Saturday, 5th of August, 2023, in Lagos State.

The Nigerian Youth Congress Chairman, Lagos State Chapter, Comr. Adeyemi Adewuyi, on Wednesday further stated that Youths of lagos State are fully interested in the matter to resist renewed POLICE BRUTALITY against the innocent citizens while urging police force to intensify their investigation, leaving no stone unturned until the unscrupulous elements are brought to book.

According to the youth chairman: the youths commiserate with the family of the late Mr. Adeniyi Sanni pointing out that the concerned killing will not be swept under the carpet.

“We, the youths are sincerely bothered about the gruesome murder of Mr Adeniyi Sanni. We are united as youths and the perpetrators must be brought to book. They can’t escape this”, he assured.

 

The Chairman went furthered by saying that the lifeless body of Sanni was found with gunshot wounds dumped at a Toyota bus stop in the Oshodi area of Lagos State.

As gathered, he added that the deceased had earlier called his wife to request the details of his vehicle papers when he was stopped by security operatives at a checkpoint in the Berger area of the state.

According to him, the wife became troubled when he could no longer reach him on the phone after obliging his request.

He added, that it was a passerby that informed his wife about the discovery of her husband’s body.

According to sources, Mr. Sanni was stopped at a checkpoint around Berger Area of Lagos on his way to his home at Isheri by alleged security agents.

“He was asked to provide the documents of the car he was driving, which he did through his wife who sent all the documents to his phone’s WhatsApp.

“It was gathered that the wife later called and the late Mr. Sanni told him they were still checking the vehicle’s papers.

“His apprehensive wife later intimated her husband’s associates to say she could no longer reach her husband on the phone necessitating the mobilization of a search party.

“She was later called by passersby through the Next of Kin phone number on her husband’s driving license that the body of Mr. Sanni was dumped around a Toyota Bus Stop in Oshodi with a gunshot wound.

“We are calling on all meaningful Nigerians especially the state government to support this investigation and arm the police with any meaningful information that would help in the findings embarked by the police in this regard.”
