Lagos unveils official website for Eko 2026 National Intermediate Games

Eko 2026

The Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the maiden National Intermediate Games — tagged Eko 2026 — has launched an official website, eko2026.org, to serve as the primary source of real-time information on the multi-sport event.

The platform was built with ease of use as a priority, featuring clean fonts, readable text, and an intuitive interface designed to help visitors navigate quickly and access information without difficulty. Its straightforward layout is intended to guide users to relevant pages efficiently, positioning it as a key resource for athletes and spectators before, during, and after the Games.

Gbenga Omotoso, Chairman of the Media and Publicity Sub-Committee, said the website would function as a live hub for updates throughout the competition. He noted that the site was built to be both comprehensive and easy to navigate, giving visitors and athletes — particularly first-time guests — insight into both Lagos and the Games.

Omotoso pointed to Lagos’ track record of hosting major sporting events, referencing the state’s staging of the first National Sports Festival in 1973 and its widely praised hosting of the 2012 edition. He expressed confidence that Eko 2026 would build on that legacy and raise the bar for youth sports development in Nigeria.

He added that Lagos remains a leader in sports on the national stage and that Eko 2026 is poised to be one of the most vibrant editions of the Games yet.
