Lagos to divert traffic for road repairs

The Lagos State Government has announced plans to repair the stretch of Iganmu Bridge (Lagos-bound), Eric Moore, Babs Animashaun and Baale Junction (Badagry-bound) along the Lagos-Badagry carriageway.

A press statement by the Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, explained thatb the repair work would  be done in phases, with the phase 1 – stretch from Alagba Junction to Baale Junction on the service oane (Badagry-bound) commencing from Sunday, December 22, 2024, to Wednesday, January 22,, 2025.

Osiyemi enjoined motorists to use alternative routes as follows: *Motorists moving inward Orile Community from Iganmu Bridge on the service oane, hav  been diverted to Alagba Street to link Imalenfe-Alafia Street to connect Savage Lane to Baale Street, down to Kekere-Ekun Street/Tokosi Street to access Lagos-Badagry Expressway to continue their journeys.

*Motorists from Iganmu Bridge to Apapa-Oshodi Expressway now continue their journeys on Toll Lane to exit at Coker to link Akinwande Street to connect Apapa-Oshodi Expressway, and on to access their destinations.

* Similarly, motorists from Iganmu Bridge heading to Apapa-Oshodi Expressway Noel, now continue on Toll Lane to link Alaba Interchange Bridge to connect Apapa-Oshodi Expressway to continue their journeys.

“Traffic from Iganmu Bridge heading to Badagry will continue their journey on the Toll Lane.

For this period, Motorists on the other side of the expressway from Badagry will have through traffic inbound Lagos.

Traffic diversion for other phases, according to the Commissioner, woul be announced by the ministry of Transportation as at when due.
