The Lagos State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to building a skilled and effective workforce, as 35 senior Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIOs) undergo a two-day leadership and conflict management masterclass at the VIS headquarters, Ojodu-Berger.

Speaking during the session, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, Hon. Sola Giwa, urged officers to understand themselves, identify personal weaknesses, and work towards self-improvement.

He emphasized the need for emotional control when dealing with motorists, noting that their role requires patience and professionalism at all times.

The Special Adviser emphasised that the training is aimed at equipping officers to better manage emerging situations while maintaining high professional standards. He assured the officers that the State Government will continue to prioritize their welfare to enable them perform optimally.

Also speaking, the Director of Vehicle Inspection Service Engr. Akin-George Fashola noted that the engagement would help officers relate more effectively with the public through improved emotional intelligence and communication skills.

He encouraged the officers to change the negative perceptions associated with the profession by applying the knowledge gained to improve service delivery, while reiterating the State Government commitment to fostering a supportive work environment that drives continuous growth and innovation across its workforce.
