The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) on Wednesday sealed off a church, mall, hotels and other establishments across the state over persistent noise pollution and other environmental infractions.

In an X post, the agency said the enforcement exercise took place in the Satellite Town, lkotun ldimu Road, Ejigbo, and Egbe Road areas of the state.

Affected establishments were identified as Power Exploits Ministry lnternational, Kafe Mall, Mingles Hotel, Ojei Golden Gate and a shoe manufacturing company, Fernando Global Products Limited.

LASEPA said the establishments were found guilty of non-compliance with its environmental regulations and directives, particularly regarding excessive noise emissions and failure to adhere to stipulated environmental standards.

Speaking on the development, the General Manager of LASEPA, Babatunde Ajayi reiterated the agency’s zero-tolerance stance on environmental violations.

He emphasised that the enforcement action became necessary following repeated warnings, monitoring, and failure of the affected establishments to comply with regulatory requirements.

Ajayi stated that noise pollution remains a serious environmental concern with adverse effects on public health, safety, and general well-being.

He noted that the agency is committed to safeguarding the environment and ensuring that businesses operate within permissible environmental limits.

He further urged all establishments across Lagos State to obtain necessary environmental permits, install appropriate noise control measures, and strictly comply with environmental laws to avoid sanctions.

The agency reaffirmed its commitment to continuous monitoring and enforcement across the state, warning that any individual or organisation found violating environmental regulations would face appropriate legal consequences.
