Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a 36-year-old suspected cultist, Muyideen Olatunbosun, during an intelligence-led anti-crime patrol in Ikorodu.
The suspect was arrested while police operatives were conducting patrols around Idi-Iroko, Ogolonto and Agric areas of Ikorodu, following credible intelligence received by the Command.
The Command’s spokesperson said a search of the suspect led to the recovery of one rubber-made pistol, an axe, criminal charms and an illicit drug popularly known as “Ice”.
The suspect, who is currently in police custody, is assisting the police with investigation, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend other members of his alleged cult group.

The Command said the arrest was part of its sustained efforts to curb cultism and other criminal activities across the state.
Commissioner of Police, CP Fatai Tijani, commended the operatives for their vigilance and prompt response to credible information.
Tijani reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to sustaining intelligence-led operations against cultism and other forms of criminality across the state. He also urged members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information to the police to assist in the fight against crime.
