The Lagos State Police Command has arrested four suspected members of a criminal gang allegedly responsible for a series of killings, armed robberies and cult-related activities in Ajah and adjoining areas of the state.
The arrests followed intensive investigation and follow-up operations by police operatives handling a robbery case within the axis.
The suspects were identified as Kareem Abiodun, 26; Tansiru Emmanuel, 29; Lateef Usman, 28; and Alashe Azeez, 32.
Items recovered from the suspects include three locally made pistols, one live ammunition, two battle axes and a Point-of-Sale (POS) machine.
According to the police, preliminary investigations have linked the suspects to several robbery operations in Ajah, Sangotedo and Ibeju-Lekki areas of Lagos State.

The Command further disclosed that the suspects allegedly made confessional statements admitting their involvement in armed robbery, murder and cult-related activities.
The four suspects are currently in police custody and are assisting investigators in unraveling their alleged roles in the various criminal activities.
The police said efforts are ongoing to apprehend other members of the gang and recover additional weapons and other exhibits believed to have been used in their operations.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, commended the operatives for the successful operation and directed them to sustain the pressure on criminal elements across the state.
Fatai warned cultists, armed robbers and other criminally minded individuals that the Command would continue to deploy intelligence-led operations to disrupt their activities and bring perpetrators to justice.
He also urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious movements, persons and activities to the police, stressing that timely information from members of the public remains critical to preventing crime and apprehending criminals.
