Lagos man falls into deep well armed with knife, scares rescuers

A bizarre scene is playing out in Owutu, Ikorodu area of Lagos State, as a man who fell into a deep well is scaring away rescuers with a knife.

Controller General, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Margaret Adeseye disclosed this in a statement sent to SunOnline.

According to the statement, the incident which occurred at a location opposite the Ikorodu North Local Development Council, inward Oja Bus Stop, Owutu was reported at 7:08 am on Sunday.

The statement reads, “The service is attending to a deep well rescue operation alerted at 07:08 hours, deploying the Ikorodu Fire Station to a location opposite the Ikorodu North Local Development Council, inward Oja Bus Stop, Owutu.

“The team is however standing by in a hide and seek game being deployed by the victim that is harmed with a knife.

“The Nigeria Police, Owutu Division is providing necessary assistance to ensure successful rescue operations.”

The service assured the public of its continued commitment to safeguarding lives and property.

It also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report emergencies through the appropriate channels.
