Lagos State Government has stated the newly introduced revenue collection system, Lagos Revenue Portal (LRP) would address the issue of revenue leakages and streamline the collection of taxes and non-tax payments.

The Special Adviser to the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Taxation and Revenue, Mr. Opeyemi Ogungbo gave the clue yesterday while, speaking with journalists.

He disclosed that the new portal will aggregate all Lagos State bills and payments across various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies(MDAs), creating a centralized platform for taxpayers.

“The portal enables Lagosians to manage and print their bills, and make payments online through multiple channels such as card, bank transfer, POS, USSD, and QR Code. This online system eliminates the need for physical visits to service stations and bank branches, thus saving time and reducing inconvenience for taxpayers,” Ogungbo said.

Ogungbo highlighted that the automation system which will be officially launch on August 15, will reduce opportunities for manipulation and bolster revenue collection.

Adding that LRP is designed to address revenue leakages, improve efficiency, and enhance accuracy.

“Lagos Revenue Portal represents a significant advancement in modernizing our revenue collection and administration. By offering a user-friendly, efficient, and secure platform, the government aims to increase compliance, promote transparency, and support revenue growth for developmental projects,” Ogungbo stated.
