Igbos in All Progressive Congress (APC), Lagos State chapter, have passed vote of confidence on ex Special Adviser to Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Drainages, Joe Igbokwe, as their apex leader.

According to the group, Igbokwe remains the apex leader and face of Ndigbo in Lagos State politic.

Speaking on behalf of the group’s Board of Trustees (BOT) members, the state executive committee, the senatorial leaders, league of women leaders and others at a press conference held on Tuesday, Chief Chris Ekwilo, the state coordinator, told general public to disregard the news on suspension of Igbokwe as their apex leader.

They said Igbokwe has done so well in representing Ndigbo in the last cabinet of Governor Sanwo-Olu, and at no time the group suspended him as their apex leader.

“We wish to draw the attention of the general public and our party leadership both at the state and Federal level that Mr. Uche Dimgba has been removed as the state coordinator of Ndigbo in APC Lagos State. He went ahead to form what he calls “Authentic NDIGBO IN APC Lagos State”.

“We intend to use this medium to alert the public of his mischievous intention to maligne our apex-leader Joe Igbokwe and ask the general public to disregard any thing he does since, he is no longer represent Ndigbo in APC.

“Mr. Uche Dimgba was relieved of his duties as the State coordinator on January 14, 2023 and was replaced by his Deputy, High Chief Chris Ekwilo as the state coordinator,” he said.
