Urges other states, zones to follow suit
Comrade Andoya Solomon Ademola’s bid for the seat of National Secretary-General of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) got a major boost on Friday as the G7 structure in Lagos endorsed him as unity candidate of the state.
The G7 structure spokesman and NANS Southwest Public Relations Officer (PRO), Comrade Tope Olugbemi conveyed the decision.
SunOnline reports that the NANS National Convention 2026, where national offices will be filled, is scheduled for May 22–25, 2026, with the presidential election holding on May 24 in Abuja.
Olugbemi disclosed that the decision to endorse Ademola was made after several considerations including his capacity, antecedents and advocacy for Nigerian students.
The structure reiterated the pertinence of giving full support to Ademola, popularly known as Aluta Gas, taking into consideration that the Presidential ticket had been zoned to the Progressives caucus and General Secretary to G7.
He emphasised that the structure deemed it fit to project Ademola as the right man for the job.
Flanking the Southwest PRO at the endorsement press conference were the leaders of the structure and senators.
