Obejor Computers, a Nigerian distributor of computers, electronic devices and communication equipment, on Friday, October 9, unveiled its e-commerce portal at the company’s headquarters in Ikeja, Lagos.

The event, hosted by the company’s Managing Director, Mr. Ndubuisi Okechukwu Obed, featured demonstrations of the portal’s functions, alongside presentations of electronic solutions developed by ObejorDev, an e-solutions company under the Obejor Group.

The unveiling attracted business stakeholders, technology enthusiasts, customers and other invited guests.

Obejor Computers, which has operated in the technology distribution sector for more than two decades, deals in laptops, personal computers, mobile phones, communication gadgets, accessories and related equipment.

Speaking at the event, Obed said the launch was intended to familiarise users with the portal and demonstrate its features.

He explained that the platform incorporates artificial intelligence (AI) assistants and supports both wholesale and retail transactions, allowing customers to purchase goods individually or in bulk.

According to him, the portal also accommodates official stores for manufacturers, entrepreneurs and individual vendors.

Other features demonstrated at the event included a Buy Now, Pay Later option, bank verification facilities and payment options in various African currencies.

The presentation also covered the group’s digital solutions for businesses and institutions, including school management software, hospital management systems and point-of-sale (POS) management systems.

Obed said the POS solution includes features such as balance sheets and prior-balance records to assist businesses with transaction monitoring and financial record-keeping.

On data protection, he said the e-commerce platform uses end-to-end encryption as part of its security measures.

The demonstrations formed part of the day’s activities, which focused on the application of digital technology to commerce, administration and business operations.

Obed also spoke on the importance of integrity and trust in business relationships, noting that maintaining good professional conduct, particularly during periods of financial difficulty, was essential to sustaining commercial partnerships.

He urged young Nigerians to identify their areas of interest, develop relevant skills and remain committed to their chosen careers.

On the broader business environment, the managing director identified economic pressures and government policies as some of the challenges confronting entrepreneurs in Nigeria.

He called for reduced taxation, improved infrastructure and a more reliable electricity supply, arguing that these measures would help lower operating costs and support business development.

The event was attended by participants from Lagos and other locations, with discussions centred on the company’s new e-commerce portal and the digital solutions presented during the programme.

The launch comes amid the continued adoption of online platforms and digital tools by businesses seeking to reach customers, manage transactions and improve service delivery.

However, the effectiveness of such platforms will depend on factors including system reliability, customer protection, data security and the ability to meet users’ needs in an increasingly competitive digital marketplace.
