On October 9, Obejor Computers, one of Nigeria’s fast-rising computer, technology and electronics companies, will formally unveil its innovative e-commerce platform, a move the company says will change how Nigerians discover, buy and receive technology.

Obejor Computers is a member of Obejor Group, and other companies under the group are Obejor & Obejor Resources Nigeria and ObejorDev.

Speaking in an exclusive interview at the company’s head office on Obafemi Awolowo Way, Ikeja, the Managing Director, Mr Ndubuisi Okechukwu Obed, said the launch is the product of months of careful planning and relentless work by his team.

“We are not simply opening another online shop,” he said. “We are building a marketplace where a student, a small business owner, a hospital or a government agency can find the right technology, at the right price, and have it delivered to them without stress.”

During our conversation, Mr Obed described the platform as stocked with a broad range of products, from laptops, desktops and smartphones to printers, networking equipment, smart TVs, power solutions and even electric vehicles. He added that the catalogue will keep growing with market demand.

Shoppers, he explained, will be able to search by category, compare specifications and prices, check live availability, save items to a wishlist and pay through bank transfer, debit or credit card, or eligible Pay on Delivery. Order tracking, customer reviews, live chat support and a mobile-friendly design complete the experience.

“Our goal is to make technology easier to find, easier to buy, easier to receive, and easier to trust,” he said.

On delivery, the MD said eligible orders in Lagos may arrive the same day or the next, while customers in major cities can typically expect their orders within 24 to 72 hours, supported by logistics partners including Speedaf.

Asked how the company intends to win the confidence of Nigerian buyers, who are understandably cautious online, he pointed to genuine products, supplier relationships, and its own inventory and warehouse operations.

“Trust is everything in this business,” he stated. “Customers must know that what they see is what they get, and that if there is a problem, there is a team ready to help with returns, replacement, repairs or warranty support.”

Mr Obed also stressed that the platform is built for institutions. Dedicated business-to-business (B2B), business-to-consumer (B2C) and business-to-government (B2G) channels will allow companies, schools, hospitals, NGOs and government agencies to request quotations and place bulk orders tailored to their needs.

Incorporated in July 2023 and co-founded by Mr Obed and Ndubuisi Chioma, both of whom are directors, Obejor Computers now has a presence in Anambra State, Imo State and Delta State, in addition to its Lagos headquarters. The MD credited the progress to his colleagues across sales, procurement, logistics, customer service and digital operations, even as the company plans to expand to other states.

“Behind every great platform is a dedicated team,” he said. “What the public will see on launch day is the result of their commitment.”

Looking beyond the launch, Mr Obed disclosed plans to expand coverage nationwide, open more outlets, pickup points and distribution hubs, even as he confirmed the deployment of AI-enabled customer service. The company also hopes, in time, to explore selected West African markets.

“This is only the beginning,” he said. “We want Obejor Computers to be a technology partner Nigerians can truly trust.”

As October 9 approaches, anticipation is building. Interested customers, vendors and partners can easily contact the company by telephone or email or through any of their social media handles.
