Lagos champions innovation in transportation sector

The Lagos State Government has, once again, reaffirmed its commitment to transforming the transportation sector through innovation, as it commended Bolt for unveiling the Ride-Hailing Safety Perception Report.

The State Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, represented by the Director of Transport Operations, Engr. Olasunkanmi Ojowuro, stated this during the official unveiling of the report in Ikeja, Lagos.

Emphasizing the critical role of innovation in shaping the future of transportation in the State, Mr. Osiyemi expressed the Government’s readiness to collaborate with relevant stakeholders in building a transport ecosystem anchored on safety, accountability, and innovation.

Highlighting a key aspect of the initiative, the Commissioner stressed the need for accurate and reliable data to support effective planning, regulation, and enforcement within the sector.

He also underscored the importance of Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) and collaborations to strengthen the State’s transport data system, making it more robust, responsive, and intelligent.

Mr. Osiyemi further noted that the State Government looks forward to deeper collaboration with all e-hailing platforms to achieve a safer, data-driven, and future-ready mobility system, with innovation at its core for a brighter and more efficient transportation future.
