Lagos-based businessman and Chief Executive Officer, Podium Industries, Chief Pascal Duru, has applauded Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his giant strides in human capacity development and healthcare, despite the harsh economic situation in the country.
At a business colloquium organised for small scale business enterprises, he said Lagos State under the leadership of Sanwo-Olu has blazed new trails at a time his counterparts in other states seem to lack ideas.
“It takes a good leader to know where the shoe pinches, his people. The announcement of free maternal healthcare services is a good step in the right direction. I have noted, with due diligence, that his proclamation on important issues will touch the lives of the people; he is a good example for other governors to emulate.”
While taking cognisance of the governor’s selection of his executive cabinet, Duru noted that the choice of Bolaji Kayode Robert, popularly known as ‘Bibiire’, amongst others, would herald new developmental strides in the local government system in the state.
“Even in his capacity as special adviser to the governor on local government and chieftaincy affairs, his sterling performances across board has changed the narrative on leadership management at the grassroots.
“Bibiire is not just a politician, but an administrator per excellence, who will stop at nothing in bringing the dividends of democracy to the people; a man so down-to-earth, whose doors are open to everyone,” he submitted.
Duru added that governor Sanwo-Olu’s recent approval of the construction of two choice roads and the donation of patrol vehicles to the police in all the 20 local governments and 37 local council development areas would help in addressing the security challenges in Lagos State.
