Lagos arrests two for dumping faeces on Oshodi median

Suspects dump faeces on Oshodi median in Lagos

The Lagos State Government has arrested two men for allegedly dumping faecal waste on a road median in Oshodi.

The suspects were identified as Sabo Ali, 50, and Ahmed Adamu, 30.

The Managing Director/CEO of the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), Dr Muyiwa Gbadegesin, disclosed this in a post on his verified X account on Friday.

According to the LAWMA boss, the suspects were apprehended while using a cart to dispose of the waste on the median.

Gbadegesin said the abandoned property from which the suspects allegedly operated had been sealed by LAWMA enforcement team and operatives of the Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI).

He said the enforcement action was part of efforts to tackle illegal waste disposal and protect public spaces across the state.

“We will continue to identify and disrupt illegal dumping activities, enforce environmental laws and protect public spaces,” he said.

He urged residents to dispose of their waste responsibly and use approved waste collection services.

“Dump responsibly. Use approved waste collection services. Help us achieve a cleaner Lagos,” he added.
