Newly admitted 5,000 students of the Lagos State University of Education (LASUED), Oto/Ijanikin, have been warned to adhere to their matriculation oath or face face the music.
LASUED Vice Chancellor, Prof. Bidemi Lafiaji-Okuneye, read the riot act to the 5,000 new students admitted for full-time degree and diploma courses for the 2025/2026 academic session.
She reminded the students that LASUED is a place of boundless opportunity, which also demands for their best.
“Your matriculation oath today is a solemn promise – a promise of diligence, integrity, and excellence. We, in turn, promise you a stable academic calendar and a conducive, supportive environment to achieve your dreams.
“Let me reiterate that the university has zero tolerance for drugs, cultism, rape or any acts of violence,” the VC stressed.
Lafiaji-Okuneye warned that LASUED management would not tolerate indecent dressing among male and female students; she revealed that some of the matriculating students are not properly dressed for the occasion.
The VC commended the over 5,000 students for meeting the university’s high standard of admission and thanked the parents for entrusting the university with their most prized assets, saying, “we will not let you down.”

The LASUED VC further revealed that in June 2025, the university produced its first-ever set of 31 professors and with over 50 Associate professors, and over 100 PhD holders make up the formidable team of the academic empire that handles the production line of LASUED.
