The candidates of the Labour Party (LP) have won all the elective positions in the last Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly elections declared in the Enugu North Senatorial District of Enugu State.
For the senate, Mr. Okey Ezea, the candidate of LP defeated Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State who is the candidate of the People Democrats Party (PDP).
Ezea was declared the winner at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Nsukka Local Government Council headquarters early Monday morning. after polling a total of 104,492 votes.
The Returning Officer, Prof. Chukwuemeka Ubaka, who declared the results said that Ezea scored a total of 104,492 votes to defeat his closest rival, PDP candidate, Ugwuanyi who polled 46,948 votes.
He said also that the APC candidate, Mr. Eze Simon came third with 6,816 votes.
Yesterday (Sunday), candidates of the labour party were declared winners in the three federal constituencies under Enugu North Senatorial District.
