Real Madrid manager José Mourinho has told Yan Diomande to improve his finishing if he wants to fulfil his potential at the club.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Mourinho made the remarks following Real Madrid’s 4-1 victory over Sevilla on Sunday.
The Portuguese tactician expressed satisfaction with the winger’s overall performance but identified his finishing as an area that requires improvement.
“I am very happy with Diomande. He has a lot to work on, and he has many things he needs to improve. He needs to work on his finishing,” Mourinho said.
The Portuguese coach added, “He gets to a lot of dangerous positions, but he needs to learn to relax more and make a better decision in last touch.”
Diomande, who joined Real Madrid from RB Leipzig in a high-value summer transfer, has shown promising movement and an ability to arrive in threatening areas.
Mourinho believes those qualities provide a strong foundation, but insists greater composure and better decision-making in the final third are essential for the attacker to progress.
