The Kwara State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed sadness over the passing of Chief Mrs Florence Morenike Saraki, the esteemed mother of Dr Bukola Saraki, former President of the Nigerian Senate and leader of the party in Kwara State.

Mrs Saraki passed away on 18 June 2024, at the age of 89, as announced by Dr Bukola Saraki via his official verified social media accounts.

The PDP, in a statement signed by the State Chairman, Babatunde Mohammed, described the late matriarch as a strong pillar of support, not only for Dr Saraki and her other children but also for those beyond her immediate family.

“Kwara State expresses deep sorrow over the loss of Chief Mrs Saraki, a remarkable matriarch whose life was marked by profound impact and unwavering dedication to her family and Kwara State. She was a mother in the truest sense, providing steadfast support to her children and standing as a formidable pillar within the Saraki dynasty.”

The party urged the former Senate President to find strength in the knowledge that his mother lived an impactful life and to an advanced age, knowing fully well that she raised her children to achieve global recognition.
