Leading chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Kano State, Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso, has applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for the rescue of 176 residents of Woro and Nuku communities in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The residents, abducted on February 3, were freed by the Nigerian military, bringing an end to their six months of captivity.
While expressing delight over the development, Kwankwaso said it was clear evidence that President Tinubu is making progress in the fight against insecurity.
He insisted that Nigerians should learn to acknowledge government efforts when there are clear gains in national security.
In a statement in Kano, Kwankwaso commended President Tinubu, National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, the two Ministers of Defence, and the Service Chiefs for the successful rescue of the 176 abducted Kwara indigenes.
“This is a clear testament that the issue of insecurity will soon be a thing of the past,” he said.
He added: “President Tinubu’s efforts in securing the country have been clearly recognised, especially in the North. The people will reciprocate this gesture. His real supporters will come out en masse to vote for him, not those who only make noise on social media and radio stations.”
“President Tinubu’s supporters are out and can be counted. Everyone will see them when they come out” he declared.
