The Knights of St. Mulumba (KSM), Nigeria, has launched a ₦2billion Endowment Fund and Integrated Charity Initiative in Abuja to ensure sustainable financing for its humanitarian services.
Speaking at the event, the Worthy Supreme Knight of KSM Nigeria, Sir Steve Zakari Adehi (SAN), stated that the initiative marks a turning point in the Order’s 73-year history, shifting from a reliance on member dues to a professional, sustainable funding model.
He stated that the core capital would be preserved, while investment returns will fund interventions across healthcare, education, legal aid, and disaster relief.
“A mission meant to endure for generations cannot depend only on one appeal after another. It requires dependable resources,” Adehi said,
He appealed to corporate organizations and philanthropists to help achieve the ₦2billion target.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, commended the initiative as a bold investment in humanity, noting that the government alone cannot solve all social challenges.
He reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to collaborating with credible faith-based organizations in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Similarly, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, represented by Hon. Festus Adefiranye, praised the endowment fund as a model of prudent stewardship. He noted that religious organizations command unique public trust and play a vital role in nation-building.
Kogi State governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, represented by Dr. Folashade Ayoade, pledged his administration’s support, calling the fund a prophetic act of charity that aligns with Kogi’s investments in security, healthcare, and social welfare.
He urged other faith-based groups to establish similar frameworks and praised Sir Steve Adehi for his exemplary leadership.
The event attracted senior government officials, lawmakers, diplomats, and religious leaders who lauded the landmark initiative.
