Konyegwachie leads out nine boxers for Olympic qualifiers in Senegal

Olympian Anthony Konyegwachi on Wednesday departed for Dakar, Senegal with nine boxers to seek spots for the Paris 2024 Olympic Boxing qualifiers. According to BSNSports.com.ng reports, the boxers are made up of three males and six females.

Over 20 boxers have been camping in the last few days getting ready for the qualifier that will commence this weekend.

After a thorough training, nine boxers consisting of three males and six females were picked to carry Nigeria’s flag in Senegal.

The Africa Olympic Boxing Qualifiers is scheduled for September 9th-15th, 2023

The male boxers are Omole Dolapo (57KG) featherweight, Fatai Moshood (71KG) welterweight and UK based Olaore Adams (92KG) Heavyweight.

The female boxers are Oyesiji Adeola (50KG) light-flyweight, Adesina Zainab (54KG) Bantamweight, Ojo Joy (57KG) Featherweight, Cynthia Ogunsemilore (60KG) lightweight, Damilola Shodipe (66KG) Welterweight and UK based Patricia Mbata (75KG) middleweight.

Head Coach Konyegwachie will be assisted by Coach Adura Olalehin.
