Kogi State Police Command has arrested 15 suspected kidnappers, armed robbers and cultists. Commissioner of Police, Naziru Kankarofi, warned: “Criminals should either repent or relocate from the state. We are going after them. I have charged officers to rise up to the task and flush out the criminals. The command has imbibed community policing and professionalism. I have encouraged officers to uphold discipline and integrity as core values. Insubordination and misconduct would not be tolerated.

“I visited the Atah of Igala, Matthew Alaji Opaluwa Oguche Akpa, at his palace in Idah, reinforcing security collaboration between the police and traditional institution and all the stakeholders to ensure a safer state.

“Police in joint operation with the military successfully neutralised scores of bandits and flushed others out of the forest. Ten suspected armed robbers were arrested along Lokoja-Abuja Expressway. Ayingba Police Division arrested two suspects for armed robbery during stop-and-search exercise along Harbour Bay, Egume Road and recovered locally made pistol and motorcycle.

“Police Tactical Team arrested suspected cultists, who are members of Axe and Eiye confraternities. I have directed DPO, and area commanders to deploy operatives to all the flashpoints along Okene-Kabba highway. New operation priorities, strategies, training and re-training of personnel will be paramount to enhance tactical engagement.

“I have warned officers to shun corruption and illegal duties. They should cultivate good relationship with the public and respect rights of the citizens.
