President Bola Tinubu has been assured of a landslide victory in the 2027 presidential election for his magnanimity in appointing several Kogi indigenes to federal positions, including that of the appointment of Prof. Joash Amupitan as INEC Chairman and that of Lt. Gen. Waidi Shaibu as the new Chief of Army Staff.
In a press statement made available to the media in Lokoja and signed by Kogi State Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Asiwaju Asiru Idris, it said that with the recent appointments and many previous others, the indigenes of the state have vowed to return this good gesture by voting overwhelmingly for the president come 2027.
He said the recent appointment of Prof. Joash Amupitan as the new INEC Chairman and Lt. Gen. Waidi Shaibu as the new Chief of Army Staff was a first of its kind and a good omen for the people of the state.

The Commissioner expressed sincere gratitude to the President, saying it was Tinubu’s commitment to an all-inclusive government that recognises talent from every corner of the nation.
The statement reads in part:
“Your Excellency, it’s with immense joy that I express my sincere gratitude as a bona fide Kogite and committed public servant for your recent appointments of our worthy sons into critical positions within your administration.”
