American reality star Kim Kardashian has shared concerns about feeling emotionally detached and likened herself to becoming “a full robot” due to past trauma.

During the latest episode of The Kardashians on July 18, Kim confided in her sister Khloe Kardashian about her mental health struggles.

She recounted the advice from her therapist, who suggested that her ability to remain calm might stem from being desensitized by previous traumatic experiences.

Khloe pointed out that Kim’s ordeal during the 2016 Paris robbery may have been a pivotal moment.

She noted a stark change in Kim’s demeanour before and after the incident, attributing Kim’s newfound calmness to the traumatic event.

Khloe said: “You were never calm as a teenager, in your 20s. You cried about everything. You were bratty. You threw tantrums. Everything stopped after you got robbed because you stayed calm in that situation and you even said, ‘My calmness is what kept me alive.’”

Reflecting on the robbery in a private conversation, Kim recalled the terrifying moments when she was held at gunpoint and how her ability to stay calm was crucial for survival.

However, she expressed concern that relying too much on this calmness may have led her to feel emotionally distant or vulnerable to exploitation.

Kim admitted feeling like she was “turning into a full robot with no emotion,” highlighting the profound impact of the traumatic incident on her psyche.

She said: “Imagine you’re like, gun to your head, getting tied up, dragged across a hotel room, and the guy, I remember him telling me, ‘Just like, stay calm and you’ll live.’ And I did that.

“[It] served me well at that time, and I think it saved my life. But I think I’ve let it get too calm to where people could take advantage of my calmness or I’m just turning into a full robot with like, no emotion.”
