Kaduna State Government has described the killing of residents following an attack on Naridon Village in Kamaru Ward of Kauru Local Government Area as tragic and unacceptable.
The attack, which occurred in the border community between Kaduna State and Ganawuri in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State, reportedly claimed several lives and destroyed property.
In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information, Ahmed Maiyaki, the government said it received reports of the attack “with deep sorrow” and vowed that those responsible would be brought to justice.
“The Kaduna State Government has received with deep sorrow reports of the killing of persons following an attack on Naridon Village in Kamaru Ward of Kauru Local Government Area, a border community between Kaduna State and Ganawuri in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State,” the statement read.
It added that “the attack resulted in the loss of lives and destruction of property.”
The government said it “strongly condemns the attack” and disclosed that Governor Uba Sani had directed security agencies to intensify operations in the area.

Governor Uba Sani also expressed sympathy to the bereaved families and ordered immediate assistance for victims of the attack.
According to the statement, “Governor Uba Sani extends his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, prays for the peaceful repose of the souls of the deceased, the speedy recovery of the injured, and has directed the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency (KADSEMA) to provide immediate relief and humanitarian support to affected families.”
The government reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with the Plateau State Government and other stakeholders to prevent further violence along the shared boundary.
“The Kaduna State Government reaffirms its commitment to working with the Plateau State Government, security agencies, traditional institutions and other stakeholders to strengthen security cooperation, restore lasting peace and protect lives and property along the Kaduna–Plateau border,” the statement added.
It also appealed to residents to cooperate with security agencies by providing useful information while shunning violence.
“The Government urges residents to remain calm, vigilant and law-abiding, support security agencies with credible information, reject violence and embrace dialogue,” the statement said, adding that the state government “remains steadfast in its commitment to safeguarding every community and sustaining peace, security and social harmony across the State.”
