Kidnapped Imo Catholic Priest regains freedom

The  Catholic priest, Rev Fr.Marcel Izu Onyeocha was who abducted last Saturday night by persons suspected to be Fulani herdsmen has regained freedom.

The Clergy and who is also a  professor of  philosophy at the  Imo state University regained freedom from his abductors Monday morning.
The announcement of his release was made on Monday morning by a radio station in the state,  owned by the Catholic Archdiocese of Owerri.
According to Rev. Father Matthew Iwuagwa, the Owerri provincial Secretary of  Claretian Missionaries (CMF) the abductors apparently knowing that the Catholic Church will not pay any ransom for the kidnapped priest, had to drop him at the same Ihube Community, where he was siezed.
Also, confirming the release of the Catholic cleric, the spokesman for the Imo state police command, Orlando Ikeokwu said that the Catholic Priest had regained  freedom from his captors, whom he  said freed him without the payment of any ransom
