Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo has mocked presidential candidate of Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi after the latter said he could not disrespect President Bola Tinubu over political differences.
Obi spoke on Friday at the 2026 All Nigeria Editors’ Conference in Enugu themed, “The Ballot, the Media and the Task of Keeping Democracy Alive,” as he addressed the controversial debt issue in Anambra State and the need for accountability in public office.

“I cannot abuse any governor. I cannot abuse anybody in government. I don’t need to abuse people even in federal government. I’ve never abused anybody. Who has seen me calling President Tinubu’s name? Never! I will not do that. He’s the President of the country, he has all my respect,” Obi said.
Reacting in an X post, Keyamo stated, “In boxing, there are weight classes, from straw weight to heavy weight. You don’t go boxing above your weight.”
