Although Kester Okike Agwu’s venture into the culinary and hospitality world started off with Vegas Lounge and Café in 2012, he has since found his niche in catering to the taste buds of Nigerians. When in 2020, he established Tastia Restaurant in Gwarimpa, Abuja, many saw it as a big deal.
In six years, he has made an impact in the hospitality industry with the 250 sitting capacity Tastia Restaurant & Bakery outlet in highbrow Wuse 2 area of Abuja, which is believed to be the biggest food court in the nation’s capital. Now with 20 branches in various cities across the country, with 13 located in Abuja, two each in Lagos, Enugu, and Abakaliki, and one each in Asaba and Awka.
As the Chief Executive Officer, Tastia Restaurant, Bakery, and Café, Chief Agwu takes pride in offering the finest quality of food, confectionaries, and exceptional services. Similarly, in setting up the Ballers or Vegas Lounge in Ebonyi and Abuja, he is driven by excellence. Customers attest to the fact that his outlets pay attention to aesthetics, which is part of the reason they keep patronising, both the VIP and regular sections.
As an unassuming and skilful entrepreneur, he has grown Tastia Restaurant to become a brand known for consistently delivering quality and taste. This year alone, the Tastia Restaurant chain has so far established seven branches. This is not only a manifestation of focus and determination but also a confirmation of the company’s readiness for strategic business expansion.
Aside from having fulfilment in what he does in the hospitality business, he also takes pleasure in providing job opportunities for all grades of the unemployed by redefining the criteria for employment. He has about 2,000 staff across the board with potential to take more as the business expands.
