In a heartwarming and inspiring event, up-and-coming writer, Kendi Aig-Imoru, presented her much anticipated book, Fulfilling Purpose to the delight of guests last Sunday.

Mr. Gambo Iyere Aliyu, Chairman of the occasion and Director of Customs and Enforcement, Tincan Island, in his welcome address, enjoined Nigerians to celebrate Kendi Aig-Imoru for writing the book, Fulfilling Purpose, which shows the bridge between what we know, see and what is happening and things we don’t know or see.

The chairman said, “We thank God for making it possible for us to witness today. Today is a milestone. Today is a remarkable day. Today is a noteworthy day because we have come to celebrate our own. We have come to celebrate Kendi who has written a very laudable book. A book that answers the question and builds the bridge between the physical and the spiritual. This book questions the core existence to questions why we are here and what purpose we are to fulfil on earth

“It is an introspective book and a must-read for people who want to discover the real essence of living and why they are here on earth. The book is a travestry between the physical and the spiritual.

Talking about the author, the chairman added, “Kendi, you are a great person. You have won our hearts and we wish you will continue to write more inspiring books and I wish you will be an evergreen author of our time.”

Mrs Yemisi Ransom-Kuti, 76 years old and head of the Ransom-Kuti family, said, “Fulfilling Purpose is all about our children and for them to fulfill their purpose in life. They first have to be a human being who recognises their own work and by having confidence, self-esteem that is required for them to chart their purpose.

“I believe the author has communicated to us through her words that we are created for purpose. We were created to fulfill the purpose of the Almighty God and our purpose is to fulfill the needs of all and not just us as individuals. This is a worthy cause, and I hope, many young people will understand the power of words of communication and the diligence it takes to study history and analyse events,” she said.

Master of Ceremony and reviewer of the book, Reginald Chiedu Ofodile, noted, “In Fulfilling Purpose, the author urges readers upon a spiritual marathon.

It is an insightful study of Christian theology and the challenges implicit in espousing it, as scriptures state, in spirit and in truth.

Ofodile, who is also a writer notes Kendi allusions, however, are not only to scriptures, but to many inspiring people in history. They include those who could be termed “Overcomers”, who turned crushing adversity into triumphant opportunity, those who evinced uncommon insight and others who manifested remarkable largeness of heart in human affairs.

Fulfilling Purpose enjoins the imperative of work, expressed in the dictum that we should pray as if everything depends on God, then work as if everything depends on us.”

Kendi Aig-Imoru told the gathering, “I have been working on the book for more than six years, and it all started with my desire to put something down and understand that there are so many things that I thought that I needed to pass across to people. I have worked with children and widows, and I realised that there are many areas where children lacks focus and they don’t really understand their co-existence.
