The former APC national vice chairman, South West, Dr. Duerimini Isaac Kekemeke, has won the primary for Ondo South.
The former Secretary to the Ondo State Government polled 35,835 votes to beat Mr. Akinfolarin Mayowa Samuel and Moratorium Lebi who scored 6,435 and 1,845 votes, respectively.
He dedicated his victory to God for His benevolence before and during the campaigns for the party’s ticket in the 2027 general election and thanked party leaders and members for their unwavering support.
Addressing party leaders and members after he was declared winner by the APC Returning Officer, Dr Tunde Monehin at the Collation Centre in Okitipupa, Kekemeke said clinching the ticket was a win for President Bola Tinubu, Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa and other party leaders and members in Ondo State and called on fellow contestants to close ranks and work together for the interest of the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“We won together and would work together for the cherished victory at the general election in 2027,” he said.
He reiterated his resolve to give the people of the district efficient and effective representation, saying, “We will live here and live with the people of Ondo South to represent them well.” He further promised to collaborate with other federal legislators from Ondo State at the National Assembly to provide a legislative framework that would catalyse socioeconomic growth in the state in support of the ongoing efforts of Governor Ayedatiwa’s government.
Further breakdown of the results shows that Mr. Akingboye Taiwo Oyewumi scored 842 votes; former Deputy Governor, Ajayi Alfred Agboola, 670 votes; Jumoke Akindele, 339 votes and Princess Oladuni Odu, 290 votes.
