Kebbi State government has launched 50 brand new 18-seater Toyota Commercial Buses to ply different routes in Nigeria.
While launching the vehicles at the newly reconstructed and remodeled motor park in Birnin Kebbi, Alhaji Umar Faruk-Buro, Kebbi political leader said the buses were meant to serve the people of the state.
He assured that the buses would soon commence services for the benefit of all residents of Kebbi regardless of political, religious or ethnic leaning.
Buro said the essence of procuring the buses was to assist both the transport unions, the bus drivers, as well as the entire people of the state.

The political leader appealed to the bus drivers to be honest, fair and trustworthy in discharging their responsibilities for lasting service delivery. He advised the unions to always liaise with security agencies, insisting that every passenger’s luggage should be screened before take-off of vehicles. Buro warned the drivers against carrying passengers outside the motor park to guard against eventualities.
Bala Muhammad-Gagga, Commissioner for Transport, observed that the day remains a memorable day “for all of us.”
He described the remodeled motor park as one of the best in Nigeria.
Commending Governor Nasir Idris for the supply of the vehicles, Gagga urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of both vehicles and edifice for the collective good of the state.
The commissioner assured that transport fare for the new buses would be subsidised compared to other private commercial operators for the betterment of Kebbi people.
