Suspected Lakurawa terrorists have attacked Sokoto-Badagry superhighway workers in Maiyama Local Government Area of Kebbi State and killed three personnel and injured two civilians.
It was gathered that among the victims were two security personnel and a foreign national working on the road project.
Confirming the incident, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Kebbi Command, SP Bashir Usman disclosed that the incident occurred at Gubba village, through Anndarai district of Maiyama Local Government Area.
According to him, the armed men suspected to be Lakurawa terrorists, allegedly encroaching from the Kebbe axis of neighbouring Sokoto State, attacked the construction site, killing two security personnel and a foreign national.
He said two civilians were also injured in the attack and subsequently evacuated for medical attention.

The PPRO explained that, on the same day, another attack by the suspected terrorists along the Birnin Malam axis was successfully repelled by police teams.
He said joint security forces responded to the attacks, with tactical teams deployed to strengthen security and prevent further attacks.
The PPRO disclosed that scores of the attackers were neutralised by military personnel, while several motorcycles were recovered.
Following the incident, construction activities at the affected site have been suspended as security agencies intensify surveillance and deploy additional personnel to the area.
The PPRO assured workers on the project of the government’s commitment to their safety and urged them to remain calm.
