Kebbi Police nab two Lakurawa suspected logistics suppliers, recover weapons, bullet-proof vest

The Kebbi State Police Command has nabbed two Lakurawa suspected logistics suppliers with series of ammunition , two AK49.and substances identified as caniva sativa.

Police Public Relations Officer PPRO (PPRO) of the command SP Bashir Usman confirmed this in a statement made available to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi.

According to him, ” Kebbi State Police Command has recorded a major operational success in its sustained efforts to curb terrorism, banditry and other violent crimes through intelligence-led policing.

“Acting on credible intelligence, operatives of the Kangiwa Divisional Police Headquarters arrested one Hamza Aliyu and Aliyu Ahmadu, both males, on 07 February 2026 at about 1500 hours along the border axis for their alleged involvement in supplying logistics to suspected Lakurawa terrorists.

“The suspects were found in possession of thirty-one (31) parcels of dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.

“In a related development, operatives of the Special Tactical Team in collaboration with the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Command arrested Sani Bature alias “Nage” and Rabiu Bature during a separate operation in Bagudo Local Government Area.

“The operation led to the recovery of one AK-49 rifle, six hundred and eleven (611) rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition, and a locally fabricated charmed bullet-proof vest.

“The suspects are currently in police custody and will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigation”, he said.

Usman added that the Commissioner of Police, CP Umar Mohammed Hadeija had reiterated the Command’s commitment to dismantling criminal networks and calls on members of the public to continue to support the Police with timely and credible information.
