Kebbi police arrest suspect for robbery and murder of motorcyclist

The Kebbi State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of one suspect identified as Aminu Adamu for allegedly killing one Ibrahim Yahaya and robbing him of his Haojue motorcycle in Bakin Dutsi Forest, Ngaski Local Government Area of the state.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Kebbi State Command, SP Bashir Usman, confirmed this in a statement made available to journalists in Birnin Kebbi.

According to him, “the Kebbi State Police Command confirms the arrest of a suspect in connection with a case of robbery and homicide involving one Ibrahim Yahaya ‘M’, aged 25, whose lifeless body was discovered on 16 December 2025, at about 0830hrs in Bakin Dutsi Forest, Ngaski Local Government Area.

“Acting on credible intelligence and following swift investigative efforts, the police arrested one Aminu Adamu ‘M’, aged 20, of Yauri Local Government Area, at about 1420hrs in possession of the Haojue motorcycle earlier robbed from the deceased. In line with the directive of the Commissioner of Police, the matter has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for a thorough investigation.

“The Command wishes to reassure members of the public that the situation is under control, with proactive measures in place to sustain peace and public safety across the state. Residents are encouraged to go about their lawful activities and to continue supporting the police with timely and useful information.”
