The Nigeria labour Congress (NLC), Kebbi State chapter,has commended the state Governor ,Dr Nasir Idris for the approving consequential salaries adjustment to all Kebbi state primary school teachers.
State chairman of the Union, Comrade Murtala Usman, disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi.
Usman explained that, aside the new salary structure for primary school teachers, the Governor also approved responsibility allowances for primary school teachers which had not happened in the whole northern Nigeria.
Usman said : Governor Idris has proven that he is indeed a teacher friendly Governor who is poised to revamp primary education which is the very foundation of basic education for all.
“At the union level,we shall continue to take side with every development efforts of Kebbi state government as a way of encouraging him to do more for the entire state.
” We commend the Governor for this kind gesture extended to primary teachers. We equally rejoice with them for the new salary structure and the responsibility allowances. There is no doubt,this will give teachers a new sense of belonging”.
Usman added that, while they are enjoying their new pay, the Union urged them to live above board by justifying the increments through dedication to duties and maintaining high professional standards in the classes.
