The Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) Kebbi State chapter, have sworn in the newly elected executive that would be steering the affairs of the association for the next two years.
Chief Judge of the State, Justice Umar Abubakar, represented by Justice Nusirat Ibrahim Umar, performed the oath of office on the elected State executive, held at the Bar Secretariat, located at the Federal High Court premises, Birnin Kebbi.
In his acceptance speech, the newly Chairman of the NBA, Kebbi State, Barrister Aminu Hassan appealed to the Heads of the Courts in the state to support the new executive to salvage the judiciary system in the state.
According to him, “our greatest primary task is to put our house to work, in order. This is no unsolvable problem if we face it wisely and courageously. In such a spirit, on my part and on yours as members of this association ,we face our common difficulties, challenges.
“It is pursuit of the foregoing; I am calling on the Heads of Courts in the State consisting the ,Hon. Chief Judge and Chairman Judiciary Service Commission, Kebbi State, Hon. Justice Umar Abubakar and Hon. Grand Kadi ,Kebbi State Shariah Court of Appeal to support us in our efforts to to salvage the judiciary system in the state which is at the verge of collapse.

“This administration come in peace in tackling these challenges. We also call all the security agencies saddled with the responsibilities of securing lives and property through instruments of the law to please, support us in our efforts to salvage the system”.
Hassan said that his administration would ensure full implementation of the Equity Bar Cooperative Society to improve the welfare of members, organised quarterly lectures for members, produce Digital ID cards, ensure the completion of our Secretariat as soon as possible.
While addressing the newly executive of the association, Grand Khadi of Shariah Court of Appeal, Kebbi State, Khadi Muktar Sidiq charged them to discharge their duties with the fear of God, guide against gossip, laziness, stressed that they should always remember that they would be held accountable before God on the day of judgment on they led their members.
In his farewell address, the former Chairman of the Bar , Barrister Lawal Hudu Garba commended his executive members , Leaders of Judiciary in the state and members Bar for their strong support throughout his tenure.
He cited some of the achievements recorded to include; securing justice for the murdered Magistrate Ibrahim Zagga, registration of 44 new members for NBA conference , ongoing construction of Equity Bar modern Secretariats among others.
